This is a super rough draft. I used a DND map tile of a road to make the downtown square.
If we like the layout for the next version i would probable redraw this map with colored pencils so the roads would more like wagon tracks/dirt roads and would be made to fit things better.
Also there are lots of extra words because there are zero symbols. Symbols would reduce word count.
Also the solid colors are very concentrated. I could imagine fading them out a bit, but wanted to start with them at 100%
Oh, and i forgot to take home the player aids so all my rule’s text is rough approximations and isn’t an attempt to alter any rules. :-)
I forgot to put building costs on the map. I think they could be integrated into the market section, as you buy them during the market phase.
After our last playtest I felt that playmats were necessary and so I redid playmats (with most of the rules on them cause it is closer to players) and the center board with only a little info.
Two very different styles so I am curious what you think. For the final version I am picturing an overhead view of rural landscape with a field, forest and brickyard/mudpit and then a little townscape on each playmat and other flavorful fun aspects.
Dear Boss Hog,
I think those look good. I like your vision for the center mat. I think putting house peices on there might look busy (and will actually take up a lot of space at beginning of game, so i would probably keep them off to the side (like in a bowl).
I think the roof bonus of indestructable is good, but that does mean you get wolf burgled right?
Can’t wait to play next weekend. I should have at least 3x each of Red, Green and Yellow plastic house by then. Each one will be unique and slightly different as i try out different styles and shapes.
